Yuri Tremler was born in the Ukraine in 1961 and went to art and design school in Russia and Germany. In 1996 he immigrated to Israel where he began working as a jewelry designer and eventually began to focus exclusively on oil painting. His subjects range from abstract to expressionistic figurative pieces. Although his café and bar scenes are painted with a palette knife, his figures maintain a soft edge and the canvas has smooth, flowing composition.
